Fri Aug 15, 2008 at 12:23:33 AM by Jake (Primary Admin/Head Programmer) ODU.FM and DjsInTheMix.Net will no longer follow the "merger" path. We've decided it's best if we both stick to ourselves.
We wanted to combine with ODU.fm so that we would have more radio content on our site... but since that's not going to happen, we're going to restructure our radio system. We have appointed RussJones to manage the live radio schedule and CapitalT to mange the trance mix radio. We hope to soon get all 3 of our radio stations up and running 24/7.
We love all of our members and you guys are helping a lot! But I beg you, PLEASE, PLEASE, can you post some extra bulletins up for DjsInTheMix.Net?
Thanks,
Jake

MusicBase
|
Fri Aug 1, 2008 at 04:37:31 PM by Jake (Primary Admin/Head Programmer) The MusicBase is online now! Think of it as DjsInTheMix minus all of the user things, just pure music.
MusicBase is only about 60% done but I'm tired of working on it right now. It'll get much better.

Thu Jul 31, 2008 at 04:18:37 PM by Jake (Primary Admin/Head Programmer) There are a few features on their way so we need all of our members to update the genres on their files. Even if you set it before, it needs to be reset again because there is a new way that the music is categorized. You will love the new things, expect them tomorrow or Saturday! :)

Tue Jul 22, 2008 at 02:01:26 AM by DjJayH (Primary Admin/Head of Site Operations) Hi Everyone,
As you can now see we have a few affiliations with other websites especially Beatport. As a member of Beatport and Audiojelly myself I thoroughly recomend their services for the use of downloadable tracks.
The playlist players seem to be causing a few headaches. All you need to do is go to a deejays profile and click the small circle on the right of the track or mix you wish to add to your playlist.A new option opens up from there you can add to playlist or you can download the mix/track if it is enabled to download.
Hope that helps!!!

|
Tue Jul 22, 2008 at 02:01:26 AM by DjJayH (Primary Admin/Head of Site Operations) Hi everyone we have now opened a live chat server room for everyone to communicate with each other live!! This system works very similar to msn live,we owe a big thanks to Jake for the time he has worked on this, well done Mate!!
HOW TO FIND IT!!!
If you are already a member simply click on "Your Panel" then scroll down to "IRC chat" just under "Friends"
BEFORE YOU CLICK ON IRC CHAT YOU NEED TO DO THESE STEPS FIRST!!!!!
1) You install FireFox 3 from FireFox.Com
2) You update your Java (95% of people don't have it up to date).
You can update it at: www.jakewarner.com/java/
Download the file, install it and restart firefox.
PLEASE ENSURE YOU TAKE THESE STEPS FIRST!!!
Hope to be chatting with you all soon enough!!

Major New Music Feature
|
Tue Jul 22, 2008 at 02:01:26 AM by Jake (Primary Admin/Head Programmer) You can now add remote music to your player!
What does this mean? If you are hosting your track/mix on your own server or another site you can use the direct mp3 link (starts with http:// ends with .mp3) and add it to your player. This will allow people to listen to your music from DJsInTheMix without using your own space!

Promoting a mix/track
|
Tue Jul 22, 2008 at 02:01:26 AM by DjJayH (Primary Admin/Head of Site Operations) Usually the best way I find to promote or advertise my mixes is to use the address bar at the top and posting it onto a myspace bulletin or posting the link into dance music forums.I've received plenty of hits using this system. For those who are unsure what I mean.
Copy the address at the top of your profile page mine for example is......
http://www.djsinthemix.net/DynProfiles/Home/Usr:DjJayH
Then simply paste this onto a forum or a myspace bulletin. This should in turn attract people to your profile and your music.
Have fun,Jay ;)

Downloads!!!
|
Tue Jul 22, 2008 at 02:01:26 AM by DjJayH (Primary Admin/Head of Site Operations) I see a few people have been having troubles with the way our system works regarding downloading mixes /tracks.To make your mix/track available for users to download goto the music uploader section, under previous upload you'll see you have the option of deleting your mix/track or the availability to have your work downloadable, when you have enabled downloads, look at the small square in the player on your profile.Click it and this will take you to a sub page where you can see how many people have downloaded your mix, here is also where you can download the mix as well.
Cheers Jay ;)

Tue Jul 22, 2008 at 02:01:26 AM by DjJayH (Primary Admin/Head of Site Operations) During the past 2 weeks of djsinthemix.net re-opening myself and the admin team have been working flatout in order to bring out the very best for you and the site.We are now kindly asking for your help.If each member of the site could support us by
bulletins, messages or even word of mouth,to other djs/producers or fans on your myspace, facebook or any other dj internet forums we would greatly appreciate it.Remember,if you do this it not only helps the site,it helps yourselves become more and more exposed.Bringing in new users brings better exposure to the site and your own personnal profile as the word spreads about the site!! Thanks for reading this and as usual, myself and the admin team will be here for any advice or suggestions to keep the site moving forward.

Music Center 1.1.0
|
Tue Jul 22, 2008 at 02:01:26 AM by Jake (Primary Admin/Head Programmer) I have done some major work on the music center tonight.
You may now download mixes!
To enable a user to be able to download one of your mixes, click 'Previous Uploads' in your User Panel and then click 'Enable Downloads'. After enabled, users can download your songs from the little arrow in the player.
(Pop-ups have to be allowed for DJsInTheMix for this to work.)
I'll elaborate more later but I'm very tired.

Music Uploader Fix & Other News
|
Tue Jul 22, 2008 at 02:01:26 AM by Jake (Primary Admin/Head Programmer) Many people have been having problems with the uploader (with code 4). I marked the required fields with [*]s now. Hopefully this will fix a few problems.
Also, remember that the site will continue to get new features. I didn't want to release all of the features when the site opened. I figured I could work on them and release them over time so that people would continue to stay interested, so expect many new features.
Also, for those of you having problems with registering:
- YOU make up the security code, it is just a way to help you reset your password if you ever forget it.
- And for the image verification, many people are having problems with the 'P' and 'Q' they are somewhat close in appearance. I guarantee the registration system works. If you're not able to register make sure you read the notes on the side.
I'd also appreciate if all of you guys n' girls (current members) would help get more members. Post bulletins on myspace, create links, etc. We need your help if we expect to get far.
Thanks,
Jake
